* Introduction :

Upper Egypt Governorates have been connected with Red Sea Governorate through five transverse road arteries as follows:

  • Transverse Road connecting Beni Suef Governorate with Zaafarana area.

  • Transverse Road connecting Minya Governorate with Ras Gharib area

  • 3- Two Transverse Road connecting Qena Governorate with Safaga & Al qousier areas

  • 4- Transverse Road connecting Aswan Governorate with Marsa Alam & Ras Pinas areas.

The foregoing transverse roads refers to the lack of connecting middle Upper Egypt region with Red Sea region which prompted the execution of a new transportation artery to enhance development all around the new road

Actually, the construction of this road represent an unprecedented epic ,where engineers ,technicians and labors of Nasr General Contracting Co. [Hassan Mohamed Allam ] have demonstrated great dedication , honesty and outstanding performance, they worked day and night for thirty months in a very difficult terrain conditions and harsh environment and adverse climate ,they subdued all difficulties and tamed the high mountains in Red Sea and Sohag Height which necessitated the blasting of more than 4 cubic millions of hard rock

The Number of workers participated in construction of the road either directly or indirectly has reached about 20000 workers
