Total length 416 km , first stage , single carriageway , width 12.5 m and shoulder 1.5 m each side . Second stage , the road will be upgraded to dual carriagewayThe works comprises:- The New road between Assiut till the intersection with the existing road between Qena and Safaga, its length is 296.25 Km.- The New Road from Sohag to the point of intersection with the above mentioned New Road, its length is 52.6 Km.- Sohag Entrance Access Road , 4.5 Km. - Access Road to Alkawthar District ,Sohag,11.3 Km.- Qena Access Road, between the new road and passing through Qena Valley till 13 Km. apart from Qena City on the existing Qena-Safaga Road. * Feb. 2010 opening the road (partial handover), July 2010 preliminary handover of all works.
